Chronos Consulting's client is the leading chocolate and cocoa manufacturer. We are seeking a driven Quality leader to join the facility in Robinson, IL. You will possess a solid knowledge of food safety systems to include QMS / BRC requirements and a technical knowledge of food safety regulatory requirements. You must be able to work independently, work well under pressure, be proactive, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

The Role:
Reporting to the VP of Quality (based at HQ) and the local Site Manager, the Quality Leader will :
Provide auditing support for compliance to quality management systems (QMS) implementation and British Retail Consortium (BRC) food safety standard requirements.
Offer site guidance, support and direction to ensure industry standard food safety systems are implemented and effective.
Oversee the implementation of corrective action associated with all gaps identified in the internal QMS annual audit.
Provide support to correct key customer complaints and any food safety incident.
Ensure implementation, development and consistency of best practices for food safety systems to include HACCP and allergen program effectiveness.
Coordination of facility inspections/audits aimed at ensuring compliance and continual improvement.
Participate (when necessary) supplier / co-manufacturer QMS systems when required.
Drive Quality culture and Continuous Improvement processes at site

The Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology or Food Science or equivalent (or engineering degree with direct experience in food Quality Assurance)
Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in food safety to include formal training in HACCP
Formal training in Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) food safety standards and British Retail Consortium (BRC).
Certification in quality management system auditing (ASQ certification in auditing a plus).
Sound understanding of food safety regulations with extensive knowledge of HACCP, GMP, Pathogen Environmental Monitoring and Facility/Equipment Design
Analytical ability, work effectively with a team, able to work under pressure
Strong communication skills (presentation, report writing) and interpersonal skills
Ability to drive projects to completion and work well with short deadline and under pressure
Computer software skills to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint required).
International experience a plus
Travel 10 % and career progression offeredEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
