Chronos Consulting's client is the leading global chocolate and cocoa manufacturer. We are seeking a Food Safety Coordinator to join the facility in Robinson, IL.
You will be responsible for the coordination, execution and implementation of key microbiology and food safety programs for the site, which include Raw Material Sampling Plan, Finished Product Sampling Plan, Environmental Monitoring and other food safety initiatives and certifications. You will communicate and interact with all departments and assimilate pertinent information and data. This organization offers career growth and progression.
The Role:
Reporting to the QA Site Lead, the Food Safety Coordinator will:
Ensure GMP and food safety requirements and policies are respected.
Enter data into the Quality Module of SAP accurately and in a timely manner.
Conduct and complete correct transactions in SAP according to requirements (releases, blocks, returns)
Issue Certificate of Analysis to customers and keep record of the history of recorded analysis results.
Perform trending analysis; identify opportunities for improvement for raw material analysis, finished item analysis and the Environmental Monitoring Program.
Manage customer documentation requirements for products being supplied from the facility, including bills of lading, packing lists, delivery notes, and quality certificates.
Work closely with Supply Chain to ensure incoming ingredients, chemicals, and packaging materials are sampled, inspected, and approved for use in the plant, plus serve in a backup capacity for Supply Chain department.
Support the movement of inventory from outside warehouses to plant.
Participate in 3rd party and internal audits and their preparation and follow up as assigned (BRC, Customer, and Regulatory)
The Requirements
Bachelors Degree - Food Science, Biology, Microbiology and/or Chemistry
1 - 3
years experience as QA/ QC/ Food Safety including experience in the food industry.
Knowledge of and exposure to BRC and/ or SQFCertification and/or other GFSI audit schemes, HACCP, GMPs, Environmental Monitoring and micro biological testing.
Strong communication skills and a team player.
Understanding of government regulations in relation to food processing.
Logistics experience a plus.
Open to working weekend and evening shifts as required .
Strong personal computer skill i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point, SAP

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
